I am a scholar of media theory and history based in Berlin. I work as a research associate (wissenschaftlicher mitarbeiter) in digital humanities at TU Darmstadt. In the digital humanities, I am interested in both the computational study of culture and the cultural study of computation. I have also written and thought about critical theory, French and Francophone studies, and the history of empire.

My current monograph project concentrates on the history of the idea of woman-qua-technology. I have also published on computational biometrics, typewriters, and the printing press in venues such as New Literary History, differences, and Configurations. New work on maternal technologies and data centers is forthcoming.

Before moving to Germany, I worked and studied in Detroit, Princeton, New York, Paris, and Portland.
