I am a scholar of media theory and history based in Berlin. I work as a postdoctoral researcher in digital humanities at TU Darmstadt. In the digital humanities, I am interested in both the computational study of culture and the cultural study of computation. I have also written and thought about critical theory, French and Francophone studies, and the history of empire.

My current monograph project concentrates on the history of the idea of woman-qua-technology. I have also written about computational biometrics, typewriters, and the printing press in venues such as New Literary History, differences, and Configurations. New work on maternal technologies and data centers is forthcoming.

I have previously worked and studied in Detroit, Princeton, New York, Paris, and Portland. I am a big fan of beach towns.
